My favorite taco spot in LA. Originally a food truck called The Lime Truck but I first tried them when they were in DTLA off 6th/spring called TLT taco. My favs 🥁 the sweet and spicy steak taco, burrito, and fries, I suggest the chipotle sauce on it. The southern fried chicken 🌮 i love it, add hot sauce! The dragon fruit juice is my favorite juice, and i like the elote. Go try it!!
Great food!! Visiting from the Bay Area. Wish they had this there. I would go all the time. Everything we had was amazing! Even their Poke bowl rice had a unique flavour to it that differentiates it from the typical poke bowl. The nachos, brussel sprouts and pee were potatoes- best I've ever had, hands down! Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars (if I could give 4.5 stars, I would) is cuz I've had better tacos elsewhere, but don't get me wrong, they are still good.
It's a small little spot in downtown la and save yourself the time of looking for parking and park in the structure directly across the street for $5 flat rate.
i came here with my homegirl and everything sounded appealing, so we went all out and ordered a grip.
FOOD: (in order of favorite to i would not recommend)
1. BRUSSELS SPROUTS - off the chain good! So much flavor and cooked just right! A little heavy on the seasoning but at that point in time did not care cause it was a good seasoning taste anyway.
2. STEAK FRIES - so unbelievably good, i am a big fan of chimichurri so lay on the flavor baby! the steak were cooked a good medium slightly well done so it was nice and the fries stayed pretty crisp which was pretty surprising given how much sauce and other stuff was on it as well.
3. SHORT RIB GRILLED CHEESE - this was really tasty but a bit TOO heavy on the sauce side, but again if you're a fan of flavors punching you in the mouth rather than no taste this is not the place for you. they make sure you taste what they have to offer, and its GOOD offerings.
4. ROASTED CORN - pretty good and quite reminiscent of elotes.
5. SEARED AHI TUNA TACO - now this i wish we never ordered. i would've definitely done without. too much sauce which i felt was trying to mask the fishy taste of the fish. did not feel like sushi grade quality fish at all. definitely don't recommend. stick to the meats boys!
AMBIANCE: smaller than i expected and thankful we went on a rather dead night and by dead i mean everyone ordering to go cause the place had people coming in steadily for their food.
SERVICE:
The guys we had were friendly and seemed to like their job. They were engaging and tried to joke around with us and that definitely left a good impression with us. Their food was good, their servers - friendly and funny. These little things sometimes leave lasting impressions and make people want to come back again. It didn't hurt they offered us free drinks with our meal, and I'm glad they did cause we tried their Guava/something Lemonade and it's addicting good!
